Vignana Jyothi Public School (VJPS) is the first institution started by Vignana Jyothi, a non-profit Society, formed in 1991 with the objective of promoting excellence in education, recognizing it as the primary driving force to propel growth and development of the society with ethics. Vignana Jyothi is a society formed and guided by a group of like-minded persons from various Business/ Professional fields with a high sense of commitment to values and social service. In addition to the school, the society runs Dr. Rama Naidu Vignana Jyothi Institute of Rural Development (DRNVJIRD) which in addition to its Diploma courses provided 6-month free vocational courses for the rural poor, free of cost with free boarding and lodging facilities. The society also runs the VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology (VNRVJIET), Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management (VJIM) and Vignana Jyothi Institute of Arts and Science (VJIAS). The society caters to the educational needs of nearly 14,500 students in its institutions which are recognized for their high standards both in academics and ethical values.

The strength of the school (VJPS) grew from 197 students in the year 1992 with CBSE Syllabus to 2207 students from class I to class X in 2023, adding Digital Classrooms, Modern Computer Labs, Library, Laboratories and Extra-Curricular activities to the curriculum. The school has laid a mark and received high appreciation from the neighborhood community, especially for its high standards of education, emphasis on ethical values besides its modest and affordable fee structure within easy reach of lower and middle-income groups.

The school focuses on the all-round development of students by honing their skills both in academic and co-curricular activities. It has been achieving 100% results in class-X CBSE examinations continuously for past 15 years. On the co-curricular front, some of our students won gold, silver and bronze medals in various National and International level competitions in Karate, Yoga, Art & Craft, Drawing, Painting, Gymnastics, Badminton, Roller and Ice Skating, Kuchipudi etc.
